Uganda: The Pearl of Africa Odyssey – 14 Days

Explore the very best of Uganda, “The Pearl of Africa ” with us on this 14 day tour that takes you from endless savannah grasslands to thick tropical forests. Start off by heading north to the spectacular Murchison Falls where the river’s waters violently burst through a narrow gorge of six metres. Observe lions prowling the open plains of Murchison Falls National Park and enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile to the bottom of Murchison Falls where gigantic crocodiles, hippos and other aquatic wildlife will be seen.

Proceed to Kibale Forest national park to track our close cousins the chimpanzees. Enjoy a trek through this lush tropical rain forest which is home to not only chimpanzees and 12 other primates but home to 375 bird species including rare forest dwellers like the great blue turaco.

Head further south to Queen Elizabeth National Park to enjoy the sunsets of Mweya peninsula literally known as the, “The beautiful place” . Enjoy the very best of the Albertine rift valley here and once again enjoy big game sightings here as you look out for lions, leopards, buffalo, antelopes and hippos on game drives and boat cruise.

Travel further south to the misty mountains of Bwindi Impenetrable Forests to enjoy the rare privilege of staring into the deep pensive brown eyes of mountain gorillas. Spend a day in the depth of the beautiful forested mountains as you search for gorillas and once found enjoy up to an hour observing these pacific giants in their natural habitat.

Proceed to unwind in the beautiful islands of Lake Bunyonyi after the tiresome gorilla tracking. Thereafter head to Lake Mburo for a chance to see more rare ungulates including topi and eland. Take a canoe in the Kamengo swamps in search of the rare shoebill before proceeding to Jinja the adventure capital of East Africa. In Jinja unwind as you enjoy a visit to the source of the Nile and embark on a final adventure by rafting down the Nile, horse riding along the river banks or quad biking along the Nile.
