Start this adventure in Queen Elizabeth, one of Uganda’s most scenic parks. Stretching from the crater dotted foothills of the Rwenzori range in the north to the remote Ishasha River in the south, Queen Elizabeth has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah plains and wetlands to gallery and lowland forest. The park’s diverse vegetation is reflected in the list of inhabitants which include over 500 bird species, aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles, buffalo, leopards, the famous tree climbing lions, several monkey species and several other small mammals. After chimpanzee tracking head to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi to unwind in one of Uganda’s most beautiful getaways.

Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park an extensive area of wetland, rolling hills, grassy woodlands and grassy valleys supporting a vast wealth of wildlife. Among the various species of mammals are zebras, impala, buffaloes and birds such as bill stork which are unique to the Lake Mburo area.  Enjoy a walking safari in the savannah grasslands of Lake Mburo before heading back to the city.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the equator crossing.
Day 2: Morning game drive and  afternoon boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge forest and drive to Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 4: Unwinding in the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 5: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park.
Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
Day 7: Walking safari and drive back to Entebbe , Kampala or Jinja.

Recommended Visiting Time: January to December

Wildlife: Zebra, Elephants, Topi, Impala, Lion, Leopard, African Buffalo, Nile Crocodile, Olive Baboon, Hippopotamus, Mongoose, African Buffalo, Warthogs, Pelicans, Kobs, Chimpanzee, Water buck, Spotted Hyaena and Vervet Monkey among others.

Birds: Shoebill, Blue-naped Mousebird, Woodland kingfisher, Little Bee-eaters, Egyptian Goose, White-backed Pelican, Hoopoe, Saddle billed stork, Hairy Breasted Barbet, Black-headed Gonolek, Guinea Fowl, Variable Sunbird,Red-Chested Cuckoo, African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot, Barred Warbler, Malachite Kingfisher, Chapin’s Flycatcher, Papyrus Gonolek, Greater flamingo, Black bee-eater, Rufus Bellied Heron, Great Blue Turaco, Giant Kingfisher, Spur-Winged Plover, African Darter, Hamerkop, Yellow Billed Stork, Long-Crested eagle and Verreaux,s Eagle among others.
