3 Day Murchison Falls Safari

Experience Uganda’s wilderness at its very best in Murchison Falls National Park. Set in north western part of Uganda, Murchison falls is formed of two contrasting vegetation types, with a lush green tropical forest on the southern end of the river Nile and seas of endless Savannah on the other.

The park is home to lions, elephants, antelope, olive baboons, buffaloes, patas monkeys, oribi, leopards, chimpanzees, hyenas and water bucks to mention but a few. There are also over 451 bird species and various aquatic mammals like the Nile crocodiles, and hippopotamus which reside on the banks of the river Nile. Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls

Set off at 07:00 AM for a 6 hour drive heading north-west of Uganda. Break for lunch before proceeding through the forest to the top of Murchison falls to see the breathtaking sights of the River Nile, thunderously roaring down the narrow impasse as the sun sets in the background.

Arrive at the southern end of the park in time for dinner and an overnight stay at the Murchison Treehouse Lodge.

Day 2: Boat Ride to the Bottom of the falls and evening game drive

Awaken in time for your breakfast, then head for a launch cruise on the Nile in the morning. Sail to the bottom of Murchison Falls as you enjoy the unique sights of the aquatic wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, monitor lizards and aquatic birds like the kingfishers, African darters, African skimmers and various storks among others.

After the cruise, break for lunch before heading out for an evening game drive down winding dust roads surrounded by a sea of savannah and look out for the night dwellers including the leopards, lions, hyenas which, with a little luck, we will see before they retire to their dwelling places. As the afternoon sun heats up, watch herds of buffalo bathing in the mud, galloping antelopes, grazing hartebeests, elephants, giraffes, warthogs and waterbucks.

Return to Murchison Treehouse Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive back with option of Rhino tracking

Arise in time for your leisurely breakfast. Thereafter, head out of the park with an option of passing via the Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Have lunch before heading on with your journey.
